Job Title: Aquatics Manager Location: WorldSprings at Grandscape Position Type: Full Time Reports To: Senior Water Safety and Security Manager WorldSprings is the outdoor, social-wellness experience that helps every guest feel better through globally-inspired soaking waters. Position Overview: The Aquatics Manager - Water Quality and Pump Operations oversees the day-to-day operation, maintenance, and administration of all current and future development of WorldSprings Dallas spas. This role ensures the optimal functioning of pumps and filtration systems, maintains water quality and chemical balance, and supervises the water quality technicians and senior maintenance technicians. The Aquatics Manager will implement and monitor maintenance schedules, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and strive for the highest standards of water quality. Additionally, the manager develops and implements various aquatic programs and oversees the hiring, training, testing, and possible certification of team members.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
  • Water Quality Management:
  • Monitor and maintain the water quality of multiple spas, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Regularly test water for chemical balance, pH levels, and clarity.
  • Adjust chemical levels as necessary to maintain optimal water conditions.
  • Implement and oversee water treatment protocols and procedures.
  • Pump and Filtration Operations:
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of all pool pumps and filtration systems.
  • Schedule and perform regular maintenance and repairs on pumps and filtration equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to pump and filtration systems.
  • Pool Maintenance:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance schedule for all pools.
  • Ensure timely cleaning and servicing of pools, including vacuuming, skimming, and filter cleaning.
  • Coordinate with Water Quality Technician team members to address any structural or mechanical issues.
  • Supervision and Training:
  • Supervise a team of water quality technicians and a senior maintenance technician.
  • Oversee and coordinate the recruitment, training, scheduling, certification, and performance of team members of the property.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for team members, ensuring they are knowledgeable about water quality standards, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
  • Ensure all pool operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of water quality tests, maintenance schedules, and chemical usage.
  • Prepare for and participate in inspections from health and safety authorities.
  • Ensure pools are compliant with all local, state, and national requirements and current on all necessary certifications required for operation.
  • Administrative Duties:
  • Develop and maintain records of operational property usage; monitor and maintain inventories of pool equipment and supplies.
  • Promote existing and new programs and/or policies.
  • Customer Service:
  • Address any concerns or complaints from guests regarding water quality or maintenance issues.
  • Ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pool management, water quality, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of pool chemistry, water treatment processes, and pump and filtration systems.
  • Excellent leadership and supervisory skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Skills
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
  • Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
  • Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments.
  • Knowledge of contract documents and specifications.
  • Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
  • Records maintenance skills.
  • Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Knowledge of optimal swimming pool water chemistry, temperature, and cleanliness standards.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, policies, and guidelines for the operation of public swimming pools and public baths.
  • Ability to recruit, train, and certify student lifeguards and others.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of operating a large, multi-pool aquatic facility.
  • Skills in program planning and development.
  • Knowledge of certification standards in area of specialty.
Physical Demands
  • Maintain balance.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling object(s) weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
  • Reaching overhead, horizontally and above the shoulders.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a variety of specialized tools and equipment.
  • Clarity of vision at varying distances to operate equipment and to drive.
  • Verbal, auditory, and written capabilities to effectively communicate in an articulate manner.
  • Continuous hand-eye coordination and manipulation of large and small objects.
Hazards
  • Working with chemicals, tools, and powered machinery.
