What You’ll Do

We are looking for a Lead / Principal Safety and Risk Engineer to play a key role in providing specific engineering services to Worley and its client.

Reporting to the Safety and Risk Programme Lead you will step into a dedicated project team. You will provide your technical knowledge and leadership to the team and the client across onshore gas and condensate production facilities including:

  • Working on a number of engineering projects at various phases i.e.concept identification, selection and definition, FEED, detailed design / execute, commissioning and start-up, decommissioning, for timely delivery according to schedules.
  • Setting technical direction for junior Safety and Risk Engineers and other direct reports on the project. 
  • Defining and applying safety engineering principles to the design / modification of petroleum production/processing facilities, as per client requests and requirements.
  • Undertaking, supervising and checking of safety studies and deliverables e.g SCEIA, EMEA, SCIA, FHA, QRA, NFHA, HFE, Bow-tie Assessment, Safety Case, Noise Assessment, Gas Dispersion, Flare Radiation, Fire Protection and Detection and Alarm System deliverables etc.
  • Representing the Safety and Risk discipline in design reviews, HAZOPs, HAZIDs and LOPA and have the capability to facilitate such reviews (if required). 
  • You will bring to life Worley’s Safe and Sustainable Engineering for Asset Lifecycle (SEAL) Standard and leading by example, you will consistently display and enforce Our values and behaviours to ensure safe, reliable operations and client satisfaction. 

What You’ll Have

  • Engineering Degree in the relevant discipline from a recognised institution.
  • Extensive years of experience in safety and risk engineering gained in oil and gas industry and preferably on brownfields projects (existing assets). 
  • Demonstrated experience in a lead / principal role.
  • Well versed in the use of DNV PHAST, Pipenet, Flaresim software.
  • A strong appreciation for technical safety engineering principles, processes and philosophies 
  • Expertise in understanding and applying Australian regulation frameworks and applicable codes/ standards.
  • Great report writing and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated facilitation skills and effective client interfacing.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting and coaching junior engineering professionals.
