What You Will Do: 

• Business Development Planning
  1. Develop and execute a Business Development plan related to City Market services. 
     • Evaluate current WSB service offerings and develop a plan to integrate into the City market: i.e. survey, studies, design, construction administration, landscape architecture, etc.
     • Other service area development – gain an understanding of the other services WSB can provide and collaborate with key leaders to cross-sell these services.
       • Program Management and associated tools
     • Develop and manage KPIs related to revenue, service growth, backlog/pipeline, opportunities and service delivery.
     • Ensure development and implementation of a City Market Development Plan to support the goals and visions identified in the Municipal Group and Division Strategic Business Plan. Participate in and contribute to annual business planning efforts with City market leaders across the region and county to develop City market-specific past performance evaluations, future performance projections and goal setting.
     • Collaborate with other WSB markets and service-areas to promote and ensure resource sharing, quality of work production and deliverables and integrity of the brand.

• Team Development
  • Identify staff that can serve in key roles and actively engage staff to assist with their professional development. Identify additional staffing needs as required.
  • Manage direct reports and indirect reports through managerial staff to maximize productivity and professional development (including technical expertise and business acumen)
  • Participate in/support training programs/plans consistent with company expectations that utilize training tools developed by WSB (i.e. Graduate Engineer Training Program; City Engineering Training Project; Project Management Training; WSB Development Program).
  • Promote a culture of diversity, integrity, growth, technical excellence, and business development.

• Pursuits
  1. Collaboration with other WSB business development teams and office locations.
  2. Focused Project/Client target development – identification and prioritization of top prospects and pursuits strategic to the City market and supportive of the overall WSB market priorities and initiatives.
  3. Pre-proposal strategy, teaming and positioning on pursuits.
  4. Teaming recommendations and participation in negotiations.
• Marketing 
  1. Organizations – establish and maintain membership in appropriate industry associations and groups. Continue to provide leadership within appropriate groups.
  2. Coordination with marketing efforts – identify clients/marketing campaigns to advance the business development plan.

What You Will Bring: The successful candidate must have:

• A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited school.
• Registration as a professional engineer (or the ability to obtain registration within six months).
• 10 years municipal experience.
• Our preferred candidate would have experience in managing municipal projects, clients and staff in this market.
• A history in delivering projects with positive customer service experiences.
• A positive attitude, as well as a willingness to learn.
• The ability and desire to develop an understanding of, or even anticipate the client’s needs, is a plus.
