What You Will Do: 

  • As Transportation Planner, you will participate in transportation planning, environmental documentation, public outreach, and grant writing projects. 
  • Typical projects include long-range transportation plans, corridor studies, sub-area plans, pedestrian and bicycle plans, federal environmental documents, and grant applications. 
  • As part of job, you will be expected to complete technical analyses, write sections of reports/memos, assist in the development of materials for the public and governmental agencies, and provide assistance as directed by senior staff. 
  • You must be able to clearly communicate ideas both verbally and in writing.

Competencies:

  • Ability to apply transportation methods, planning principles, and standard industry evaluations and analyses with input and guidance from senior staff. 
  • Strong written communication skills are a must.

What You Will Bring: 

  • The successful candidate will have either a master’s degree in transportation, urban planning, civil engineering or related field from an accredited program or a bachelor's degree in similar field.
  • Minimum of two years of applicable experience. 
  • The successful candidate will have previous experience as an intern or in a professional capacity.
