WSP is currently initiating a search for a Lead Consultant for our Baltimore, MD office. The successful candidate will lead the delivery of multiple design projects and hydrologic and hydraulic (H&H) studies for stormwater management, conveyance systems, resilient infrastructure, and flood control. This is an excellent leadership position in an internationally recognized global firm in a field designated for rapid growth.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Water Resources Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Professional Engineer license/Project Management Professional certification or similar certifications is highly preferred. Ability to get licensure/certification in the next 6-12 months is required.
• 7 years of relevant post-education experience in the A/E/C industry with a technical client-facing background in the water resources sector.
• Knowledge of clients, opportunities and competition in Maryland, Virginia or Washington D.C.
• Demonstrated success in strategic selling. Ability to translate complicated technical information into sales messages.
• Experience in water resources engineering including with hydraulic modeling of open-channel and closed conduit systems.
• The ability to manage several projects concurrently, provide senior-level input and evaluation on projects.
• Proficient knowledge of related engineering principles, practices, process, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
• Well-defined knowledge with Stormwater Management, Drainage, Hydrology & Hydraulics Design, Watershed Studies, Stream and Ecological Restoration, etc.
• Experience with project and client development/relationship management.
• Proficient ability to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements.
• Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and
non-engineering audience.
• Demonstrated high-level of self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
• Ability to work independently and provide guidance and leadership to junior team or project members, with strict adherence to QA/QC.
• Proficient understanding of and experience with stormwater maangement, hydrologic methodologies/models, and with software tools for project delivery including AutoCAD, MicroStation, Bentley design products, project collaboration software, and ArcGIS software.
• Well-developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills required to apply technical knowledge to reach conclusions from testing results, data collation, statistical analysis and arriving at the most effective, economical, and logical solution.
• Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subconsultants and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.
