Location: Anne Arundel County, Maryland
You ImpactThe candidate will serve as a Project/Construction Manager to support our Construction management and Inspection services related to Water and Wastewater Infrastructure Projects.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing the construction management team consisting of inspectors, document control personnel, safety professionals and schedulers, and manage the document control process using Primavera Contract Manager.
- Performing staging and logistics planning.
- Managing contract administration activities and the preparation of Construction Progress Reports to document progress and to identify key issues that need to be addressed by the client team.
- Performing constructability reviews and value engineering analyses.
- Evaluating and reviewing contractor schedules and pay applications and making recommendations to the client.
- Evaluating the merits of contractor issued change orders and claims and making recommendations to the client.
- Coordinating with different departments within an individual client’s organization as well as with third party utilities and outside stakeholders.
- Acting as the Owner’s agent with regards to the construction process.
- Understanding, evaluating and solving construction related field issues.
- Assisting in the RFI, submittal, and change order review process and reviewing of the contractor’s work schedule and schedule implementation.
- Assisting in negotiating sub consultant participation in contracts.
- Negotiating task orders and developing cost proposals for clients.
- 5-7 years of experience in construction management of water/wastewater pipeline, treatment facilities and wastewater collection systems and pump stations.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
- Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods
- Expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
- Understanding of all facets of the construction process
- Familiarity with the use of a variety of project control systems such as Contract Manager, P/6, MS Project, SharePoint.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
