This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Associate Consultant, Bridge Engineer for our Lincoln, NE office. Be involved in projects with our Transportation Team and be a part of a growing organization that delivers important bridge infrastructure for our local Nebraska, and National clients.

Your Impact

• Perform bridge related computations and analysis
• Support the preparation of design plans, cost estimates and special provisions
• Collect data, gather information, produce documents and reports
• Attend design meetings and coordinate with team members
• Develop memorandums and other written technical documents
• Work with cross-functional teams in executing project work.
• Work collaboratively with other engineers, professionals, and infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, local, and privately funded improvement and development projects.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or closely related discipline.
• 1-3 years of relevant post education experience
• Excellent technical writing, analytical and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented with an emphasis on quality work products
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Familiar with the AASHTO Bridge Manual and LRFD Design Code
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.
• Capable self-leadership with attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, technology, math principles, physics, predictive models, spreadsheets, and tools.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
• Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous engineering experience in Nebraska
• Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
• Structural undergrad emphasis preferred, but not required
