POSITION SUMMARY: A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is an Ultrasound professional that is qualified by professional credentialing and/or academic and clinical experience to provide diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures. Responsible for the independent operation of sonographer equipment, and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using Sonography, under the supervision of the Radiologists. Responsible for daily operations of the sonographic laboratory, patient schedule, equipment maintenance, the report of equipment failures, and quality assessment. QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate of a formal Diagnostic Medical Sonography program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Demonstrates current knowledge of ultrasonography practices. Demonstrates competency in all procedures within the scope of practice as appropriate to the ages of the patients served. Demonstrates good customer service skills and teamwork attitude. Familiar with CQI and its relation to ultrasound. Active certification by American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in the appropriate specialties (Abdomen, OB/Gyn, Vascular - preferred). Current compliance with continuing medical education (CME) requirements as needed.BLS certification. Additional Job Description:Day shift primarily 9:30am-6pm , with possible rotations to other day shifts as needed. Also will include call (night/weekend) and holiday rotations.
