JOB SUMMARY:
Complete cycle of stocking materials for Maintenance and Production from determining the need to ordering, receiving, and returning the materials to stock.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains inventories of equipment spare parts, Maintenance expendable supplies (nuts, bolts, tape, drill bits, etc.), Production expendable supplies (operator's tools, slurry paddles, rubber gloves, first aid supplies, etc.), and Quality Assurance expendable supplies (cleaning chemicals, etc.), Sanitation expendables and Warehouse expendables. This is done through physical inventories, tag turnover, and management requests. Selects vendors and makes purchases with best pricing and delivery times desired.
DUTIES:
1. Maintains designated maintenance spare parts inventory.
2. Determines reorder needs from maintenance check out usage.
3. Places orders for spare parts and expedites as necessary. Ship out return and repair units.
4. Checks open and backorders.
5. Searches for vendors.
6. Does price comparisons.
7. Creates computer records for each part stocked by entering in system.
8. Miscellaneous typing and filing as required.
9. Compile reports.
10. Maintains a running cost on capital projects.
11. Phone contacts with suppliers on an ongoing basis.
12. Answers telephone for the Maintenance Department.
13. Set up and maintain information on each vendor concerning items handled.
14. Trips relative to pickups and deliveries.
15. Maintains petty cash, and credit card accounts.
16. Back-up for Parts Coordinator.
17. Maintain vendor active list and change report on all vendors’ plant wide for SQF.
18. Communicate via a telephone and email with internal and external customers.
19. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Able to interfaces with warehouse receiving, accounts payable, and purchasing.
Able to deals with vendors and suppliers in person and by phone. and negotiates for best price and delivery.
Must be able to access, input, and retrieve information from a computer.
Must have efficient typing skills, and be detail oriented and accurate.
Must be able to communicate in English clearly in both verbal and written form.
Must have good basic math skills.
Ability to accept pressure to meet deadlines.
Must be able to work with a minimum of supervision.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required with a 2 -3 years work experience inventory, purchasing, accounting.
Associate degree (preferred) with 4- 5 years experience in purchasing, maintenance planning and/or inventory.
