Wyoming Business Council is Hiring a Remote Startup Grants Manager

WYOMING BUSINESS COUNCIL – STARTUP GRANTS MANAGER

The Startup Grants Manager develops, evaluates, and administers WBC’s startup grant programs designed to invest in venture and high-growth Wyoming based entrepreneurs; specifically, Kickstart: Wyoming and the Small Business Research and Innovation (SBIR) programs. Evaluates startup proposals for economic impact, program compliance, and determines WBC’s investment recommendations. Builds relationships with entrepreneurs, businesses, WBC board members, and establishes networks for the purposes of promoting Wyoming investment tools for Wyoming entrepreneurs. Takes an analytical and strategic approach to helping clients achieve their financial goals. The Startup Grants Manager maintains the integrity of all startup investment programs with thorough program knowledge, application options, and targeted analysis.

The Investment Team understands the financial landscape of economic development necessary to help Wyoming businesses and communities secure the right financing for sustainable projects that contribute to Wyoming’s lasting growth. This team develops and administers programs providing financial support to local governments and assists Wyoming businesses in reaching their financial goal through partnerships, relationships, due diligence, application review, company and plan analysis, contracting, grant reporting, and feedback.

As the Startup Grants Manager, you are a continuous learner who is coachable and willing to take risks and fail. You are ambitious and generous by offering your point of view as you invite others to share theirs as well. You initiate ideas in the best interests of the end goal while continuously refining your approach through testing and experimenting. You thrive where you can break down big ideas into actionable tasks and deliver against deadlines. You are extremely organized and have experience coordinating multiple, complicated projects. Your experience and connection with business canvases, business plans, pitch decks, and the entrepreneur community guide your approach to investment decisions, and you easily imagine Wyoming’s economic future when entrepreneurs and businesses have the necessary capital to succeed. Complexity and ambiguity are fulfilling to you as is work that requires strong analytical skills.

This position has the flexibility to be located anywhere in the state of Wyoming. While WBC does have office space in some locations around the state, it may not be an option where you are located. Applicants are advised to be prepared to work from home and travel on occasion.
