As a Principal Scientist, Computational Protein Design in the AI Protein Design team you will have prior experience with protein design and engineering, with a deep understanding of biochemical and computational considerations for protein design while having expertise in a high-level programming language such as Python and modern HPC and cloud compute workflows.

Minimum Qualifications

• Hands-on experience (5 years) in protein design and engineering, with a deep understanding of biochemical and computational considerations for protein design
• Expertise with a high-level programming language such as Python and modern HPC and cloud compute workflows
• Hands-on experience with RosettaFold, RFdiffusion, AlphaFold, or ESMFold
• Deep structural knowledge of proteins
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong curiosity of areas of biology previously unknown to you
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet project timelines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with researchers from diverse fields, including computational and experimental biologists, and provide scientific guidance, support, and leadership as needed
• Demonstrated ability to mentor early-stage scientists and associates
• PhD in bioengineering, biophysics, biochemistry, computational biology, chemical engineering, or related field plus 7 years experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience (2 years) in developing machine learning and AI algorithms for protein design
• Strong publication record in protein design and engineering for therapeutic protein applications
• Experience using LIMS and Benchling systems. Substantial experience with DNA synthesis and protein production CROs and lab vendors

Compensation

The specific compensation package for each role depends on factors including experience, qualifications and level. We anticipate the range for this role to be $133,000 to $182,000 per year.
