Please visit xanterra.com for more information on the company and its environmental initiatives.We are looking for a dynamic Corporate Director of Learning and Development to join our team and drive our employee growth and development initiatives. The Corporate Director of Learning and Development will be responsible for leading and managing the learning and development (L&D) strategy across our diverse portfolio of travel companies. This role will oversee a team dedicated to instructional design, L&D system administration, and operations training delivery strategy. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate training, a passion for travel, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in our training programs. A background in hospitality and tourism is highly desired. This position will perform work out of our Greenwood Village, Colorado office.
ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive L&D strategy aligned with the company’s business goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify training needs and priorities.
  • Monitor and analyze industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure our L&D initiatives remain innovative and effective.
Operations Training Engagement and Delivery Strategy:
  • Act as a key point of contact for business stakeholders regarding the long-term, high level L&D initiatives.
  • Coordinate with operational leaders to ensure training programs support operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring alignment of training programs with business needs.
  • Partner with business training teams to execute a training delivery strategy that ensures consistent and high-quality training across hospitality and other business units.
  • Implement metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of training programs and their impact on business performance.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on L&D activities, achievements, and areas for improvement.
Team Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing L&D team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, and development of L&D staff.
  • Employ servant leadership style, helping to unify the L&D teams at all our locations.
Instructional Design:
  • Oversee the design and development of engaging and effective learning programs, including e-learning, instructor-led training, and blended learning solutions.
  • Promote consistency across all locations for L&D initiatives and projects.
L&D System Administration:
  • Oversee the administration of L&D systems, including Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other related technologies.
  • Direct the efficient operation and continuous improvement of L&D systems and processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Learning and Development, Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Learning and Development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in instructional design, L&D system administration, and training delivery strategy.
  • Strong understanding of the travel and hospitality industry, with experience in hotels, cruises, or travel services a plus.
  • Proven track record in successfully designing and delivering training programs for diverse populations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to travel as needed to various company locations.
COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $140,000.00 plus incentive.
