The Xavier University Montessori Lab School is seeking an Associate Lab School Instructor. This position is responsible for supporting the Lab School Instructor with the implementation of a dynamic, academically rigorous, interdisciplinary, developmentally appropriate classroom founded in Montessori philosophy that serves each child’s unique nature and is reflective of the practices of the American Montessori Society. Job Responsibilities
Assisting in the planning and execution of a developmentally appropriate program, including conducting developmental assessments, developing child portfolios, and maintaining daily records.
Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of an appropriate, attractive, clean, safe, developmentally appropriate, and nurturing environment for children.
Supporting the Lab School Instructor with planned activities, caregiving routines, and standards of classroom behavior through careful and continuous supervision.
Assisting with family communications and building community.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required or Associate’s degree with at least 3 years experience in a Montessori classroom environment or another classroom setting.
1- 3 years experience in a similar role with comparable responsibilities.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.
