Xhale HR is Hiring a Logistics Manager Near Vernon, CA

Position Summary

The Logistic Manager plans, schedules, coordinates, and analyzes the efficient distribution of products throughout multiple locations. The individual ensures proper inventory management and reconciliation processes are followed, as well as makes recommendations designed to improve business results for all inventory related activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensuring effective employee relations; providing employee coaching and development; making employment decisions; resolving employee issues through problem resolution
  • Managing departmental performance measures, including visual controls and providing regular progress reports to manager
  • Providing leadership through partnering with cross-functional teams to plan ahead according to sales forecast and performance
  • Provide feedback and suggestions to manager on tools, resources, external partners, and software applications that will help improve the efficiency, productivity, accuracy, performance, and communications of the logistics team
  • Ability to ask with and perform all subordinate tasks, which includes but not limited to the following:
  • Manage the scheduling and routing of all inbound and outbound purchase orders
  • Prepare and transmit accurate bills of lading to accounting and customer partners
  • Communicate with carriers to ensure prompt pick-up and delivery of shipments
  • Review purchase orders and shipment contents prior to releasing them from our facility
  • Tracks, traces and updates internal order track on the status of shipments through weekly reporting
  • Create & manage reports to identify our performance to key metrics and highlight suggestions for performance improvement/cost savings
  • Analyze and model freight modes to optimize both cost and service
  • Complete cost worksheets by inputting current/projected freight costs, handling fees, and duties
  • Maintain database of tariff and transportation codes, communicating changes to internal partners
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legal requirements for import, export, and direct shipments
  • Handle all customs documents and work with brokers for timely processing of paperwork
  • Communicating proactively with internal customers by providing accurate and timely information on inventory status and cost of goods purchased
  • Representing a critical on-site presence to internal customers, and maintaining a proper professional approach in all types of interactions
  • Validating shipment, receipt, and invoices for all product received and shipped
  • Streamline shipping and transportation processes
  • Manage inventory in offsite/3rd party warehouse locations
  • Assist with maintenance of inventory, physical inventory, and cycle counts
  • Understanding of Vendor Guides and implementation of those guides to achieve compliance in shipments while reducing chargeback exposure
  • Proficiently operating ERP system and WMS etc.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Previous experience in management, such as supervision, including employee hiring and retention, performance reviews and employee development, and discipline; a demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others
  • Must be able to improve working conditions (quality, productivity, efficiency) and increase subordinates' skills and capabilities
  • Must prepare activity plans for the above and discuss them with manager
  • Must be able to assist Operations Manager in improving a system of inventory, standard operating procedure, safety, quality control, and performance management
  • Ability to think ahead and plan ahead according to sales forecast
  • Quality orientation and attention to detail
  • Previous experience in inventory management a must
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a strong team-building skills
  • An ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Must have domestic shipping experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
