Join Our Team as a Junior IT Technician
OverviewAre you looking to kickstart your career in Information Technology? We are seeking a Junior IT Technician to provide essential support to end users, both locally and remotely. Reporting directly to the Director of Information Technology, this role offers a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and grow within our dynamic organization.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide frontline help desk support to staff members.
  • Manage an inventory database of electronic equipment, parts, and supplies.
  • Assist in conducting IT orientation for new and existing employees.
  • Perform installations and upgrades of Windows client/server OS, system patches, and hotfixes as needed.
  • Troubleshoot system hardware and software issues.
  • Maintain backup policies and procedures, along with proper documentation.
  • Monitor security solutions, including anti-virus and intrusion detection systems.
  • Develop and update technical documentation, diagrams, and procedures for designated technology areas.
  • Ensure optimal operation of all equipment for maximum productivity, promptly addressing any operational issues requiring repair.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-2 years of computer operation experience in an IT environment is an asset.
  • Strong technical support and troubleshooting skills, including onsite/remote and telephone support.
  • Knowledgeable about current hardware, protocols, and standards.
  • Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with a variety of equipment such as computers, printers, wireless devices, and audio-visual equipment.
  • Proficient in MS Office suite.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exceptional communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic team environment.
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships at all levels.
