CNC Machinist

XL Machineworks is looking for a trained CNC Machinist eager to learn and grow in a company machine shop that is part of a larger industrial facility. Exceptional pay with full health insurance and a flexible work schedule. Lots of room for growth and bonus pay based on performance.

Qualifications:

- Candidate must have high school diploma or equivalent and completion of a minimum of vocational training or an apprenticeship, or 2 year’s experience and be able to wear many hats (including grinding as needed).

- High level of manual dexterity and detail orientation

- Ability to use precision measuring (calipers and probes) and portable coordinate measuring equipment tools to take accurate measurements.

- Knowledge of CNC G&M Code manual input for machine controls

- Experience using forklifts and cranes preferred

- Strong shop-math skills

- Familiarity with Microsoft Office

- Good oral and written communication skills; able to read, comprehend and create written and verbal instructions in the English language

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and to climb or balance. The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

- Will operate the following:

2 Haas CNC mills (including 5 axis)

Manual mills and lathes

Hand saws, band saws, drill presses, and other shop equipment

- Primarily internal job shop- all custom orders- not a high production facility

- Detail oriented and must enjoy making one-offs per customer requirements

- Strong with close tolerances, understands GD&T

- Shop is inside larger industrial recycling facility near Atlanta Airport
