Job Overview:

Generally expected to work as a valued member of the XL Specialized Trailers team. This job is responsible for performing Human Resources related duties at the professional level by carrying out responsibilities in functional areas of employee relations, training, benefits, and payroll.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Partners with employees and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
2. Conducts exit interviews and analyzes data and makes recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement.
3. Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights complaints.
4. Represents the company for any unemployment claims.
5. Facilitates and/or provides training (including orientation) to the workforce.
6. Interviews, screens and recruits job applications to fill entry level, professional and technical job openings.
7. Reviews applications and interviews applicants to match experience with specific job related requirements.
8. Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data. Uses automated system to produce accurate and timely payroll. Ensures compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
9. Initiates new-hire benefits and change of information by obtaining, verifying, and recording employee information, and informing insurance carriers of new or changed information.
10. Retains historical reference of benefits accounts by maintaining benefits recordkeeping system; filing and retrieving benefit information
11. Maintains Human Resources Information System and personnel records.
12. Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
13. Maintains historical records by filing documents.
14. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations. Wear proper personal protective equipment.
15. Identifies and anticipates safety and health concerns and hazards by surveying environmental, operational, and occupational conditions.
16. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Ancillary Duties:

1. Serves visitors by greeting, welcoming, and directing them; notifying company personnel of visitors' arrival; maintaining security and telecommunications system.
2. Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall operations of the XL Specialized Trailers.

Daily contact requiring courtesy, discretion, and sound judgment.

Licensing and Certification:

None required

Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree Human Resources Management, or related field. PHR certification preferred.
2. One to two years experience in Human Resource Management.
3. Background in employment law and other government compliance regulations is preferred.
4. Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult and emotional issues.
5. The ability to research and analyze various different type of data information.
