Job Description:

We are looking for an innovative and technically proficient Software Developer and Architect to help continue the development of our proprietary inventory and warehouse management software. This role involves the ideation and implementation of software solutions, requiring a mix of creative thinking, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask effectively. The successful candidate will report directly to our CEO.

Our system is a PHP application built with Laravel, MySQL, Meilisearch, Inertia, Vue.js, Tailwind CSS, and a few other odds and ends. It’s hosted on Linode, with Laravel Forge handling provisioning and deployments. During initial development, we’ve built out a bit of a component library that will be used and extended in the future.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop scalable, high-performance data architecture solutions supporting functions such as warehousing, accounting, allocation, planning, and overall company organization.
• Handle all aspects of the software development lifecycle including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and identify relevant data sources.
• Set the platform architecture, technology strategy, and implementation standards.
• Focus on data modeling, data quality, data integration, and data governance.
• Provide guidance on technology to help shape the company's overall strategy, including the integration of AI/ML models.
• Document architectural decisions, designs, and requirements clearly and concisely.
• Identify and implement opportunities to optimize data storage, processing, and retrieval performance, including database tuning, indexing strategies, and data partitioning techniques.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3-4 years of software development experience
• Proficiency in Laravel (PHP), MySQL, and Vue.js (or similar JS framework like React or Svelte, with a willingness to dive into Vue).
• Experience with dev ops is a plus.
