THE ROLE:The EnvironmentalRegionalSalesRepresentativewill be responsible for the success of Xylem YSI Analytics products in the state of Florida, including sales and budget performance in the territory through direct sales, distribution support, and key customer development. In this role, the incumbent will be a consultative sales representative who will provide solutions to customers, given their water monitoring needs. The representative will both nurture existing accounts, as well as prospect to grow the business with new account generation. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

  • Direct Sales within region.
  • Assist with development of territory sales plan.
  • Meet sales, profit, and budget targets.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with influencers, distribution partners, and key organizations.
  • Achieve quarterly and annual Sales goals for supported product lines.
  • Attend Tradeshows / Conferences – assist with the setup of tradeshow booths and related materials.
  • Provide Telephone and On-Site Support to Customers and Selling Partners.
  • Provide equipment training and installation support.
  • Effectively manage expenses and expense budget.
  • Assist and help maintain sales project pipeline and forecast.
  • Maintain and report detailed sales forecast for region.
  • On-going analysis of competition and appropriate adjustments of plans.
  • Support sales team, specialty, and major dealers as required.
  • Participation in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Preference for at least two years of direct sales experience in the Environmental Market or related field.
  • Degree or similar experience in natural resources, environmental, physical or ocean sciences, and/or business degree.
  • Technical experience such as in a field, lab, or environmental water testing role, hydrology, oceanography and/or working with analytical instrumentation is preferred.
  • Product/application knowledge of instrumentation related to outdoor water quality and/or quantity monitoring.
  • Preference for knowledge of aquatic biology, limnology, biology, geology, hydrology, oceanography.
  • Working knowledge with computer programs such as salesforce.com, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Effective written and oral presentation skills.
  • Comfortable working with a wide variety of people in a variety of settings.
  • Analytical thinking ability – able to identify problems early in the development cycle and determine resolution.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Willingness and ability to listen effectively to understand problems and ideas conveyed by non-technical personnel.
  • Willingness and ability to convey technical information and work procedures to non-technical personnel.
  • Able to be productive in an unstructured environment. Self starter – takes initiative to create and implement plans.

DAY IN THE LIFE:

In this role, the working environment is from a remote office with occasional work outdoors, including on or near the water, with the possibilities of weather extremities and the use of PPE. The physical demands may include, but are not limited to, regularly sitting, standing, and lifting up to 30 lbs. In addition, this role may require 50% overnight travel by car and plane, as required to support sales channels, achieve sales quota, and to meet goals and objectives set for the sales team.

SALARY:

The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 to $85,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
