Description
Summary/ Objective:
The Payroll Specialist will oversee and coordinate the organization's payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations and company policy.
Essential Functions (but Are Not Limited To)
- Ensures safety of self and others by following all Safety Policies/Procedures and wearing all required PPE
- Implements, maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.
- Prepares documents/reporting for funding of each payroll.
- Prepares and manages monthly reporting include Ad Hoc requests as may be required.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Ensures accurate and timely process of 401(k) funds and matching funds to meet federal regulations.
- Identifies and recommends improvements to payroll processing software, systems, and procedures.
- Provide customer service to team members to resolve pay discrepancies.
- Train team members and leadership on use of Paycom.
- Regular attendance is required.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications, Education, and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related equivalent experience required.
- Proficient with payroll software, preferably Paycom
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel or related software.
- Extensive knowledge of the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Work is conducted in an industrial open office/ plant setting.
- Frequent movement throughout an industrial plant environment being exposed to high noise levels and equipment normally used in stamping / welding/ Ecoat environments.
- Able to lift up to 33lbs.
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use.
- Able to traverse the plant facility.
