Yamhill County is Hiring a Community Outreach Specialist (QMHP) Near McMinnville, OR


Yamhill County has two regular full-time position for a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)/Advanced Practice Behavioral Health Clinician. In this role you will perform a variety of tasks while working largely in the community providing crisis and de-escalation services with law enforcement, partners in criminal justice, and community members. Your duties will include assisting in quality assurance activities, participating in program planning and development, engaging in concurrent, collaborative documentation in EMR with clients, and may include care coordination and case management, crisis services, skills training, providing or participating in consultation, in-service training, and education programs as well as other necessary administrative tasks and related work as required by the program supervisor/manager.
This position may be underfilled with a Behavioral Health Clinician. Please see classification specifications below for details.
Advanced Practice Behavioral Health Clinician: $6078- $7702/month (DOE)
Behavioral Health Clinician: $5830- $7136/month (DOE)
Schedules available vary from swing shift to overnight shift.

The Qualifications:
An MSW or master’s degree in a social services field from an accredited school is required in addition to:
 
Behavioral Health Clinician:
  • One year of experience as a Human Services Specialist I. 
    • Any satisfactory equivalent combination of experience and training which ensures the ability to perform the work may substitute for the above. 
  • Must qualify as a QMHP or CADC, to work in respective fields. 
  • May require licensing.
Advanced Practice Behavioral Health Clinician:
  • Three years’ post-master’s experience. 
  • Must possess an active professional license in the state of Oregon as a Qualified Mental Health Provider (QMHP). 
    • Or be a non-licensed QMHP with dual credentialing as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC I, II, or III).
CADC is preferred but not required at hire; however, the expectation will be for the individuals in this position to be eligible to become a CADC Candidate and to complete the CADC I requirements within their first two years of hire. Must have an NPI number or be able to obtain one upon employment. Successful completion of a background check is also required.
 
The Candidate:
As a successful candidate, you will have a working knowledge of techniques specifically related to community mental health services and the following abilities:
  • To understand the behavior of people under stress; 
  • To develop and maintain effective cooperative relationships with clients and their families, the community, physicians, law enforcement agencies, the courts, and public and private administrators; 
  • To interpret community mental health and chemical dependency services; 
  • To prepare concise and complete client treatment and progress records. 
Typing and computer proficiency is required for collaborative documentation. Additionally, you should have excellent communication skills and will be dependable, organized, self-directed, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to work in a team environment and to interact with coworkers, clients, and the public in a courteous, professional manner.
