Warehouse Material Handler
3rd SHIFT & 11:00pm-7:30am (Sun-Thur)
East Hanover, NJ
Job Responsibilities
Yarde Metals is looking for a branch warehouse associate to join our Operations Team in East Hanover, NJ. A branch warehouse associate performs various warehouse operations duties in accordance to safety and quality procedures.
- Retrieve material from inventory according to work instructions.
- Verify accuracy of material retrieved by measuring and comparing product information on tag to work order.
- Construct skids and use shipping supplies to properly wrap and prepare product for delivery using tape measures, banding equipment, and nail guns.
- Tag material, verify product against work order, and perform last piece visual inspection.
- Safely load and unload material from trucks using cranes, forklifts, and side loaders.
- Inspect inbound material using measuring tape measures and calipers.
- Record and report material discrepancies.
- Locate material into inventory racking system.
- Prepare orders for shipment via common carriers, UPS, and customer pick-up.
- Expedite orders and process received and shipped material in system.
- Print material certifications and shipping tickets.
- Continually inspect materials and report material defects.
Requirements & Qualifications
***This is a SAFETY SENSITIVE position: requires operating heavy machinery.***
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
- History of working safely and productively at all times.
- Warehouse, material handling, and forklift operation experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and understand English in order to carry out work instructions.
- Team-oriented and dependable.
- Ability to meet physical requirements of position.
