Location: Charleston, TN
Pay Rate: Up to $28 Hour
Hours: Scheduled 40 Hours/Week
We are looking for experienced Journeyman Riggers. Must be able to rig pipe, equipment and structural components safely into position.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in performing any combination of the following duties: load/unload material and equipment rig, hoist, place, pipe, equipment, and other structural steel components according to the layouts or blueprints while working as a crewmember.
- These duties must be performed in a safe and timely manner with the highest quality possible.
- Set up hoisting equipment for rigging, raising and placing pipe, equipment and structural components.
- Fasten (rig) components to hoist using chain, cable, nylon slings, or rope.
- Signal worker operating hoisting equipment.
- Guide member using tag line (rope) in order to guide it into position.
- Pull, push, or pry components into approximate position while supported by hoisting device.
- Force component into final position using turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks and hand tools.
- Secure or Bolt aligned components to keep in position until they can be permanently bolted or welded into place.
- Cut and weld steel members to make alterations.
- Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules.
- Maintain work area in clean and tidy manner.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams in order to perform tasks accurately.
- Ability to move machinery and equipment using; hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
- Ability to assemble and install various types of equipment and machinery using hand tools and power tools.
- NCCER Advanced Rigger Certification a plus.
- Structural Welding is a plus.
Experience and Requirements:
- 5 plus years previous ironworking/rigging experience in an industrial setting is preferred
- Knowledge of safety rules and regulations.
- Knowledge and understanding of MSDS sheets with management/supervision.
- Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Grasping, Feeling, Repetitive Motion
