Yavapai County is Hiring a Custodian (Part-time) - Facilities (Prescott) Near Prescott, AZ

RoleThis is a part-time position (15-29 hours per week) Most positions are evening hours starting at 5PM though some exceptions may apply. Under general supervision, performs service work of routine difficulty in various custodial duties.
Major Duties, Responsibilities
  • Cleans and maintains County facilities, including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, carpet spotting and cleaning restrooms, entries, walkway, and glass using appropriate cleaning solutions.
  • Performs equipment care, including cleaning and changing belts and bags.
  • Identifies and reports repair needs and maintains inventory of cleaning supplies for assigned buildings.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
EducationMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.
ExperienceNo experience required.
Additional RequirementsMust possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.

  • Keep management informed of key operating issues affecting the department.
  • Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties.

Work EnvironmentThe work environment is associated with various indoor and outdoor locations, in all weather conditions and includes exposure to loud noise, blood borne pathogens, dust, fumes, mist, and chemicals.
Physical RequirementsAbility to bend or stoop repeatedly or continually over time; move, lift, push, pull a variety of heavy objects; mix and work with cleaning fluids, chemicals, or similar solutions using normal protective equipment; remain in a standing position for extended periods of time. Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effective in-person and telephonically. Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
