What We Are Looking ForYazaki is looking for a Direct Purchasing Support Analyst to join our Purchasing team in Canton, MI. The ideal candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative and action-driven environment making lasting impacts on the organization. This position is hybrid.
What You Will Be Doing

• Managing Requests and Communications: Manage spot buy requests/communication with external suppliers, prioritizing urgent requests while working FIFO. Collaborate with Direct Purchasing buyers for approval or pricing as needed. Initiate and attend meetings with the purchasing team as required. Maintain a master tracker and all documentation for audit compliance purposes. Support special projects as required, including creating necessary documentation.
• Scope and Responsibilities: Handle all North and Central America direct material purchased from external suppliers. Ensure overall compliance with assigned roles and responsibilities per current purchasing standards and procedures.
• Efficiency and Cost Implementation: Identify and drive cost improvement opportunities by addressing redundancies and root-causing urgent requests to solve issues at the source. Identify efficiency opportunities by working with the Finance Controller, Business Units (BUs), Material Planners, and Category Buyers.
• Reporting and Metrics: Provide weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reports to leadership on PO status and progress. Monitor KPIs and group metrics. Maintain metrics and BOS for the Data Management Team.

What You Will Bring To The Table

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• 3 years of previous experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• Travel: up to 5%
• Ability to resolve issues by applying creative thinking
• Ability to think and act logically under pressure
• Ability to resolve issues or propose resolutions to responsible parties
• Must work independently and collaboratively
