What We Are Looking ForYazaki is looking for a Sr. Engineering Technician to join our Connector Technical team in Canton, MI. This person will be responsible for fabrication of parts for engineering testing, including equipment set-up and operation of cut/strip/crimp/weld/Additive machines and/or samples preparation according to customer requests. Provide support to management on technical issues, processes, or products.
What You Will Be Doing

• Interpret and comprehend technical information, specifications, and instructions
• Understand connections technical requirements and design guidelines
• Execute work according to instructions, processes, and procedures
• Learn and perform safe operation of equipment/jigs/tools
• Be an effective communicator & function as a member of a team
• Provide activities report/status as needed
• Manage time to achieve deliverables
• Understand electrical or mechanical properties and packaging or material characteristics
• Understand DVP&Rs, DFMEAs, DOE’s and other quality related documents and processes
• Understand USCAR 21, USCAR 38 and USCAR45 requirements,
• Identify technical issues by applying creative thinking to resolve
• Trace technical issues and problems to root cause

What You Will Bring To The Table

• Associate degree or equivalent experience
• Relevant technical knowledge of safe tooling/equipment operation, understanding of customer drawings, component specifications, and project timing
• Ability to manage (internal) customer service and resolve issues both independently and in a team setting
• Capability of reviewing new components and product requirements and selecting appropriate processing equipment for fabrication.
