What's the job?
The Senior Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the consistent delivery of a broad range of analytical HR support while administering policies, process, procedures, and programs covering several of the following areas: employee records, employee relations, HR compliance, payroll administration, and benefits services throughout the firm and its affiliates.
Key Objectives
  • Assist the Senior Human Resources Manager in the day-to-day functions of the HR department
  • Maintains timely, accurate and up-to-date human resources electronic files, records, and documentation
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to payroll, compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; occupational health and safety; and training and development
  • Provides support for Open Enrollment, Year End processing and special HR programs
  • Assists in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
  • Provides back up to HR Assistant and Payroll Specialist positions
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience directly in an HR Generalist capacity with duties in payroll administration, HR compliance, and employee relations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or HRCI-PHR
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of Federal and State employment laws/regulations and how to apply laws to HR policy and procedures
  • Knowledge of FLSA, payroll processing, and payroll taxes
  • Knowledge of MS Office; including Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of HR and/or payroll software
  • Skilled in employee relations and investigations
  • Skilled in interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution
  • Skilled at analytical problem-solving
  • Ability to effectively communicate in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
  • Ability to organize tasks with and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Ability to work in a stressful environment and handle multiple tasks with competing priorities
Physical Demand
  • Frequent use of hands, wrists, fingers associated with computer equipment.
  • Required to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Normal visual acuity, ability to talk and hear.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
Working Conditions
  • On-site position; required to travel to other Yeo & Yeo office locations as needed
  • Normal office environment
  • May on occasion be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as from office equipment.
