Social Worker Intern (MSW) Department: Child Development: Day Camp Employment Type: Part Time Location: Association Office Description The Greater Boston YMCA is seeking a Social Worker Intern to support our Child Development teams with training and implementation of positive behavioral supports and interventions. The Intern will assist members of our SEL team and share the role of working with families and youth at risk, understanding child behavior with the knowledge of setting up supports and interventions for student success in an out of school time environment. The Social Worker Intern will be dedicated to advancing the safety, health, and productivity of children in our Out of School environments and summer camps. Key Responsibilities Specific responsibilities may include:
Serve to consult, train, and build capacity within the team, as needed.
Assess the social-emotional needs of children and make referrals for services, support, and resources .
Provide on-site and virtual support to program staff around positive behavior guidance through training, modeling, and coaching.
Availability to support meetings with parents, families, social workers, and wrap-around team members, as needed.
Facilitate staff support meetings and professional development, as needed.
Attend meetings with organization's partners such as school districts, local mental health agencies, etc.
Connect with community organizations to gather resources and build partnerships.
Travel between sites as needed.

Education/Experience Requirements:
Enrollment in a master's degree in social work. (Or similar criteria as set by Child Development staff.)
