ResponsibilitiesThe Central Branch YMCA is seeking a Teen Day Camp Counselor who is enthusiastic, energetic, and compassionate with a strong desire to positively impact the lives of teens by leading fun, interactive activities during Summer Camp.
  • Motivate: Have a warm, engaging, and friendly demeanor that can connect quickly with teens.
  • Inspire: Plan and organize activities with individuals and groups, work proactively, and show spontaneity, creativity, and flexibility.
  • Support: Execute day-to-day responsibilities to create a safe, secure, and enjoyable environment for campers. Ensure that emergency plans are followed when necessary.
RequirementsCandidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:
  • Minimum of 21 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent, is preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Experience in the supervision of multiple children.
  • Ability to handle situations quickly, kindly, and fairly.
  • Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.
Salary: Part-time $14.00-$14.50 hourly
Hours Available: Monday through Friday, 20 hours, morning and afternoon/evening shifts
