GENERAL FUNCTION:

This position is responsible for maintaining a welcoming, clean and safe environment throughout the fitness areas. Key Duties include but are not limited to:

Member Engagement: Building effective relationships with members, providing assistance, and answering questions to support their needs. This includes introducing new members to others and providing information relevant to their health and wellness journey. 

Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring the cleanliness and proper function of all fitness equipment. This involves regular hourly cleaning, organizing weights, and reporting any maintenance issues to the supervisor. 

Safety and Policy Enforcement: Monitoring the wellness area to ensure member safety by consistently and fairly enforcing the YMCA's policies and procedures. This includes being able to respond to confrontational behavior and emergencies. 

Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service by greeting members, answering their questions about YMCA programs, and assisting them with fitness equipment. This role also involves supporting new members through orientations and youth orientations. 

Admin Duties: Participate in staff meetings, stay informed about upcoming Frisco Y events, and programs, and maintain accurate records as needed. 

KNOW-HOW:

• High school education, or equivalent
• CPR and First Aid certification within first 30 days (paid by YMCA)
• Good communication and interaction skills
• Ability to handle a variety of situations in a professional, friendly and persuasive manner
• Knowledge of YMCA programs and services
