GENERAL FUNCTION
Manages the facility and member needs Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. Manages the member services function including but not limited to access to health and fitness center, sales of membership and data entry. Ensures that the membership team provides service in a quality manner at all times. Provides accurate information on activities and programs to members and participants.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES / POSITION RESPONSIBILITY
Primary staff responsible for ensuring prompt and courteous service is delivered to members/participants. This position should convey enthusiasm and a basic knowledge of all program areas to members and participants, as well as refer patrons to the correct staff member when needed. This position is responsible for the daily operations of the Membership Team and for the supervision, hiring, training, and terminating of Member Services staff. This position is responsible for weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday) Member Service staff performance. This position is responsible for various membership and program participant account tasks including accurately completing data entry for service desk staff close out and deposits. Ensures that accounting and related procedures are followed for cash reporting and sales. The incumbent is responsible for membership and program sales for the entire branch. This position is responsible for all membership files. This position is also responsible for assisting members, providing leadership to Member Service Representatives. Position responsibilities also include selling our YMCA to prospective members. Must have effective communication skills and problem-solving skills. The Member Service Supervisor will represent the YMCA values and mission to current and prospective members. Assisting members. Will be expected to learn all Branch procedures and programs. Attend/participate in required staff meetings.
KNOW-HOW
High school education, or equivalent; two years of post-high school education preferred. One year or more of related experience in supervising a service, sales and/or office environment. Knowledge of office etiquette, procedures, and office machines. Must be capable of handling a heavy detailed workload as well as work independently and efficiently. Must have effective supervisory skills and effective communication skills. Candidate should be outgoing, energetic, and a PEOPLE PERSON and should be a positive role model for other staff. Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills and have a pleasant phone voice. Bilingual preferred. Must be able to obtain all training needed.
