YMCA of the North is Hiring a Payroll, Data and Compliance Coordinator Near Minneapolis, MN

The Payroll, Data and Compliance Coordinator role will be a hybrid role. Starting pay $21/hour depending on your experience and qualifications.

  • Job Summary:

The Payroll, Data and Compliance Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely data entry of HR Actions and ensuring alignment with YMCA policies and procedures. The incumbent ensures the organization is prepared and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to payroll, tax, benefits, compensation and employment law (this is not an all-inclusive list) in all states where team members reside. Monitor service request tickets and resolve if able or assign tickets to appropriate team member. Collaborate with People and Culture Business Partners and Communications to ensure compliance needs are communicated timely for resource materials.

  • Essential Functions:
  • Process all data entry for HR Actions accurately and timely supporting data integrity.
  • Partner with payroll analyst and payroll administrator to document payroll processing, tax filing, etc to ensure timely and accurate completion.
  • Serve as back up to payroll administrator and payroll analyst.
  • Run monthly analytical reports and review for compliance and data integrity. Update system to correct data integrity issues and communicate as appropriate.
  • Provide customer first service to team members by monitoring request tickets and assigning to appropriate team member for resolution.
  • Stay current in HR compliance with federal, state, county and city laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to the organization and relevant to states where team members are employed.
  • Regularly monitor federal, state, county and city environment for future changes that may directly impact the Y. Communicate to leader to ensure adequate time to recommend implementation plan. (Example: sick and safe time, minimum wage, paid family leave, etc.)
  • Develop tracking system to monitor and ensure timely and accurate processing of compliance related times; including but not limited to: W2 distribution, 1095C forms, required reporting, wage and garnishment, tax filing, etc. Communicate compliance issues to leader prior to being out of compliance.
  • Partner with people and culture team and risk management on organization-wide compliance initiatives, relative to HR. Support by informing, training and equipping team and supervisors with resources and tools.
  • Collaborate with people and culture business partners to create, update and implement policies and procedures to remain in compliance with applicable law.
  • Support research and system capability for multi-state employees.
  • Relationships:

The incumbent reports to the Vice President of People Operations and Total Rewards and works closely with People and Culture’s leadership team to meet the needs of the Association. The incumbent supervises the payroll staff. This position interacts with Association Executives and Branch and/or Program Executives.

  • Qualifications:

Required

  • Associate degree in human resources or business. Demonstrated experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Two (2) years of payroll and/or HRIS systems.
  • Experience working with human resource compliance, including payroll regulations, wage and garnishment, taxes and employment law, etc.
  • Experience working with multi-state employees.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to meet tight and often competing deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work discreetly with confidential information.

Preferred

  • Experience with UKG Ready
  • Multi-lingual
  • Data organization and analysis experience
  • Work Conditions:
  • Must be able to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Operate office equipment: copier, fax machine, and computer.
  • Travel to various locations for meetings and trainings.
