POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction and supervision of the Executive Director the Program Coordinator provides daily program direction and supervises program staff. Assists in program management which may include but is not limited to marketing, program evaluation, program facilitation, and providing quality customer service. Hires, trains and supervises staff.

Greets everyone by using names whenever possible; extends thanks whenever appropriate; makes relationship building the number one priority at all times. This position is responsible for ensuring that the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA is conveyed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provides daily direction in the delivery of programs and supervision for designated program staff.
2. Recruits, hires, on boards, trains and supervises designated staff. Facilitates communication and provides leadership; models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
3. Assists in developing and delivering programs.
4. Assists with program management; this may include conducting program observation/evaluations and compliance audits.
5. Assists in marketing and program communication to members, participants and community partners.
6. Acts as a liaison between various program areas and lead agency partners to implement and assist managing projects and programs which may include youth professional development and leadership.
7. Reviews monthly reports, communicates any budget issues with Program Director and assists with ideas to resolve issues.
8. Assists in identifying and supporting the grant reporting and implementation process.
9. May bill national and state agencies as necessary.
10. Represents the YMCA in the community participating in public relations and promotional activities.
11. This job description may not be all-inclusive and duties may be modified when deemed appropriate by the CEO. Employees are expected to perform all other duties as assigned and directed by the CEO.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum of two (2) years of experience working within the program areas of focus (i.e. youth development, nutrition, chronic disease prevention, community health and wellness).
2. Minimum of one (1) year experience supervising staff.
3. Maintain up to date knowledge of program areas of focus (i.e. youth development, nutrition, chronic disease prevention, community health and wellness).
4. Effective written and interpersonal communication skills.
5. Ability to deliver presentations to various audiences.
6. Good organizational skills.
7. Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.
8. Ability to build strong relationships with individuals and build community within a group
9. Ability to work with a diverse population.
