Job Description

The Y is looking for an innovative and experienced professional committed to developing business functions for the Accounting department. This leader is responsible for the processing of all invoices, managing our credit card purchasing system, and managing our vendor files with the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth. The ideal candidate must have a demonstrated track record of delivering high-quality customer service, combined with the ability to manage the administrative components of the job. Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary to ensure that everyone has a high-quality experience with the Y.

Qualifications
EDUCATION
  • Associate's degree in related field or equivalent work experience (or currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Program).
  • Two or more years of administrative/management and/or financial experience.
EXPERIENCE & BACKGROUND
  • High energy, positive, "can-do" attitude, flexibility, teamwork, attention to detail, and a high degree of initiative will help this candidate be successful.
  • Experience in data entry with working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing along with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of general ledger and accounting functions preferred.
  • This leader will also need the ability to connect and relate with diverse groups of people at all levels of the organization.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish would be a plus.
Essential Functions
  • Organizes resources and deliverables to best meet intended goals and outcomes.
  • Process bills/invoices for outgoing payment.
  • Audits check requests and purchase orders for completeness and makes corrections as necessary.
  • Inputs vendor and expense distribution data in the accounts payable system.
  • Coordinates accounts payable check runs upon approval.
  • Manage purchasing and credit card program.
  • Files appropriate documentation and maintains accounts payable files.
  • Voids checks and credits appropriate accounts as needed.
  • Responds to challenges with possible solutions in a timely manner (e.g., works with vendors and staff to resolve invoice discrepancies).
  • Reviews vendor statements for past due invoices and work with vendors and branches to keep accounts current.
  • Records cleared accounts payable checks in the accounting system.
  • Balance Account Payables General Ledger at month end.
  • Enters journal entries and reviews edit reports.
  • Maintains W-9 information for all vendors and prepares annual 1099 forms for IRS.
  • Maintains responsible and cooperative relationships with vendors and branch regarding accounts payable/journal entry matters.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth offers a competitive salary and benefits package for selected candidates.
The yearly salary range for this position is $41,000 - $45,000 and will be commensurate with the selected candidates experience.
The YMCA provides competitive health, dental, and vision benefits. Long-term disability, a medical and dependent care reimbursement plan, employee assistance plan, free family membership, discounts on Y programs including summer camps, enrichment classes, youth sports, childcare, and more! Eligible to enroll in a 403 (b) tax-deferred account at beginning of employment. 12% retirement paid by the YMCA upon meeting eligibility requirements.
