Role: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Warren, MI Onsite
Fulltime- Direct Hire
As a Manufacturing Engineer , you will be integral to the efficient assembly and testing of mechatronic products for global customers. Your experience with typical part handling, assembly processes, data management, and automation will be crucial in enhancing our production processes. The ideal candidate will also have a background in statistical analysis, continuous improvement methods, capacity management and OEE analysis.
1. Ensure compliance with OSHA Safety and Health regulations, as well as federal, state, and local regulations related to environmental, industrial, and electrical mandates.
2. Mechatronic Product Assembly: Oversee and optimize assembly processes for current production and new pump assembly lines, utilizing middleware such as Ignition and PLCs to enhance effectiveness and efficiency.
3. Testing: Develop and implement robust in-process and end of line testing procedures. Analyze test results and employ statistical analysis to drive improvements.
4. Data Management: Leverage your expertise with middleware, such as Ignition and PLC, to integrate and streamline manufacturing processes, part traceability and database management.
5. Automation: Drive automation initiatives within the assembly process, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
6. Statistical Analysis: Apply statistical methods to analyze manufacturing data, identify trends, and implement data-driven solutions for process optimization.
7. Continuous Improvement: Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, identifying areas for enhancement in processes, quality, and efficiency.
8. Capacity Analysis: Conduct capacity analysis to ensure optimal utilization of resources and recommend improvements to meet production demands.
9. OEE Improvement: Implement measures to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) through proactive maintenance, process optimization, and technology upgrades.
10. Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation of assembly and testing processes, including standard operating procedures, work instructions, and quality control measures.
11. Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechatronic systems into the automotive assembly line.
12. Contribute insights to budget planning and timelines, and actively participate in "special projects" assignments as required.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
2. 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with a focus on automotive assembly and testing of mechatronic systems.
3. Proficiency in middleware such as Ignition and PLC.
4. Experience with pumps is a significant plus.
5. Strong understanding of typical assembly processes and automation in automotive manufacturing.
6. Background in statistical analysis and continuous improvement methodologies.
7. Capacity analysis experience for production planning and optimization.
8. Familiarity with OEE improvement strategies.
9. Proficient in relevant engineering software and tools.
10. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
12. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
