Yoh is hiring for a Research Scientist, Computational Structural Biology Computational Antigen Design.

Length: 1 year contract with possibility of extension

Pay: $45-$50/hr

Location: Onsite in Waltham, MA

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• The candidate is expected to design stabilized viral antigens in recombinant protein and mRNA format.
• The candidate is expected to perform structural analyses to understand protein flexibility and identify B cell epitopes.
• The candidate is expected for develop novel computational tools for protein modeling and epitope prediction.
• The candidate is expected to generate in-silico structural model using Alphafold or other protein modeling algorithms.
• The candidate is expected to have a solution-focused, team-oriented mindset and will interact closely with other investigators in research and development of novel vaccine candidates
• This is a hands-on, laboratory-based role in a highly collaborative research environment
• Role will require planning, designing, executing, interpreting, and presenting data in an effective and scientific manner
• Participate in scientific discussions focusing on current technology of structural biology
• Maintain detailed records and communicate progress and challenges, as necessary
• Perform timely electronic laboratory notebook entries, review and submission for completed experiments.

Job Requirements:

• PhD in Computational Biology, Biophysics, Structural Biology, or closely-related discipline
• Experience in computational protein design is required; experience in antigen design is highly desired.
• Experience in protein-protein affinity calculation is required.
• Experience in epitope scaffold design is highly desired.
• Experience in scripting languages, such as Python/R/PERL, is required.
• Experience in protein modeling (homology and ML-based) and sequence analyses is required.
• Mastery of fundamentals (e.g., thermodynamics, macromolecule physics, force field design, protein design, essential biochemistry) in protein design.
• Experience with big data, cloud computing and parallel computing is a plus.
• Experience in interfacing with wet-lab experimentalists is required; wet-lab experience is a plus.
• Strong experience writing and deploying novel algorithms, developing and testing new models.
• Ability to independently design, plan and execute scientific studies, including operation and maintenance of relevant instruments and troubleshooting are required
• Advanced skill in structural viewing program such as Pymol is required
• Familiarity with viral fusion protein and antibody biology is preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills are needed

Estimated Min Rate : $45/hr
