Senior Staff Accountant

Responsibilities:

Execute journal entries.

Prepare supporting schedules across the accounting cycle.

Reconcile subledgers to the general ledger.

Aid in managing the monthly close process and managerial reporting.

Aggregate data for internal accounting, AP, AR, and Cash dashboards.

Conduct cash accounting and reconciliations.

Assist in refining processes and implementing technical enhancements.

Offer assistance for annual audits.

Compile and submit insurance reports to underwriter partners.

Provide assistance with regulatory reporting.

Handle sales and use tax reporting.

Manage cessions and retro reporting for insurance/service contracts.

Validate data integrity across systems and related integrations.

Fulfill other duties and ad hoc reporting needs as necessary.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in GL accounting.

Payroll experience is desirable.

Highly preferred experience with NetSuite.

Exceptional communication, research, problem-solving, and time management abilities.

Capacity to multitask, prioritize, and adhere to deadlines.

Skill in building relationships with clients and internal departments.

Strong knack for identifying data anomalies and resolving issues.

Ability to thrive independently in a startup environment.

Aptitude for analyzing data and deriving logical conclusions.

Familiarity with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.

Sound understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Proficiency in financial statement analysis.

Advanced proficiency in Excel (including V-Lookups, Pivot Tables, Macros), MS Office, and NetSuite.

Excellent analytical and quantitative skills, coupled with accuracy and attention to detail.
