Technical Vendor Manager (Group Benefit Insurance)

We are currently seeking a Technical Vendor Manager to join our team and take responsibility for managing our relationships with external technology vendors. In this role, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our organization obtains maximum value from our vendor partnerships while maintaining high standards of service and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
Vendor Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with our external technology vendors.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all vendor-related communications, inquiries, and escalations.
Work closely with vendors to understand their products, services, and roadmaps, and advocate for our organization's needs and priorities.
Contract Management:
Negotiate and manage contracts, service level agreements (SLAs), and other agreements with vendors.
Ensure that all contracts and agreements are in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
Monitor vendor performance against SLAs and take proactive steps to address any issues or concerns.
Vendor Performance Monitoring and Evaluation:
Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure vendor performance.
Regularly monitor and evaluate vendor performance against established KPIs and metrics.
Identify areas for improvement and work with vendors to implement corrective actions and drive continuous improvement.
Vendor Risk Management:
Identify and assess risks associated with vendor relationships, products, and services.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of potential disruptions or issues.
Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, data privacy, and other regulatory requirements in vendor relationships.
Vendor Selection and Onboarding:
Assist in the selection of new technology vendors through the evaluation of proposals, product demonstrations, and reference checks.
Coordinate the onboarding process for new vendors, including contract negotiation, integration planning, and initial performance monitoring.
Budget and Financial Management:
Work closely with finance and procurement teams to manage vendor budgets and expenditures.
Monitor vendor invoices and expenses to ensure accuracy and adherence to budgetary constraints.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and optimization in vendor relationships.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Information Technology, or Supply Chain Management.
Proven experience in vendor management, preferably in a technical or IT-related environment.
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all levels of an organization.
Solid understanding of technology and IT systems, with the ability to evaluate and assess technical products and services.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving results and continuous improvement.
Familiarity with risk management practices and regulatory requirements related to vendor relationships.
Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines.
