Job Title: Accounts Payable Clerk

Reports to: Ashley Clausen, Dispatch Manager

Location: Clear Lake Office

Schedule: Full-time, non-exempt

Set office hours, some overtime expected

Wage Range: Based on experience

The accounts payable clerk reviews, reconciles, and pays YohnCo’s bills in a timely fashion including reconciling credit card purchases. This position requires attention to detail and a working knowledge of

YohnCo’s operations in order to be the steadfast guardian of its cash flow. The accounts payable clerk must work closely with the accounts receivable clerk, the accountant, and other key YohnCo personal.

Primary Duties & Functions:

• Match purchase orders to invoices and enter invoices into computer
• Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
• Charge expenses to accounts by analyzing invoices and recording entries
• Pay vendors by monitoring discount opportunities, verifying federal id numbers, scheduling and preparing checks, resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos
• Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions
• Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements
• Maintain existing and create new vendor entries
• Maintain W-9 file and issue 1099s
• Request Certificates of Insurance as needed
• Provide accurate and effective document preparation and records management relative to the AP function in accordance with records retention policies and procedures
• Keep AP accounts including Credit Cards up-to-date with daily, weekly, bi-monthly, and end of month deadlines
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities by request or as assigned
• Work with office staff in troubleshooting and problem resolution
• Other duties as assigned including cross training in YohnCo Dispatch and Accounts Receivable.

Minimum Requirements:

• 3 years accounting experience
• Competency with QuickBooks
• Expert-level knowledge of spreadsheets
• General ledger experience
• Knowledge of general accounting principles, regulatory standards and compliance requirements
• General math skills

• High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and organization
• Excellent data entry skills
• Effective verbal, listening and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently or as a team member
• Ability to problem solve
• Ability to identify and keep sensitive information confidential
• Effective organizational, stress and time management skills

Preferred Skills:

• CPA
• Microsoft Office

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.00 - $26.00 per hour
