FOOD SERVICE Full Time (8 Hours/Day)

• High school diploma or equivalent perfered
• Clean and neat appearance
• Able to accept direction well
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable

Reports To: Cafeteria Manager

Job Goal

To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and friendliness.

Performance Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of food portions and prepare cafeteria counter.
• Serves students and staff from the cafeteria counter.
• Removes used dishes and assists in the cleaning of counters, tables, and furnishings in the dining area.
• Maintains the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion.
• Performs skills necessary to run cash register if applicable.
• Performs related duties as required including duties at special meal functions as directed by the cafeteria manager.

Specific Job Requirements

• Manual dexterity to shred, chop, assemble, and mix foods
• Stamina to stand and walk on hard flooring for long periods of time
• Ability to withstand a wide range of temperatures
• Ability to work with chemical agents
• Strength to lift and carry food items or objects weighing up to fifty pounds
• Communicate effectively with customers
• Excellent team-building skills
• Accept delegated responsibilities willingly

Terms of Employment:

182 days per school year; salary paid off cafeteria worker pay scale and work year to be established by the Board

Evaluation:

Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Services Personnel.
