SummaryYoung Living is looking for a high energy, hardworking, and self-motivated facilities technician. This position keeps Young Living’s buildings and the associated facility equipment in clean and operating condition. The ideal candidate has experience in maintenance, housekeeping, and grounds keeping services, equipment repair or similar experience.
Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Perform weekly facility duties; fulfill and close out daily work order tickets.
- Assist with housekeeping duties, performs landscaping services by lawn cutting, sprinkler system repair, pruning, and picking up debris on premises, clean snow and ice from sidewalk as needed.
- Perform regular maintenance tasks including minor plumbing, electrical, HVAC, painting, and other typical duties.
- Assemble furniture, hang pictures, move personal items, etc.
- Notify management concerning need for major repairs or additions to any building equipment or system.
- Identify safety issues and hazards.
- Identify ways to improve and promote efficiency and cost control.
- Perform building walkthroughs weekly to identify preventive maintenance tasks.
- Maintain solar panels and ensure they are in working order.
- Take appropriate accident prevention measures.
- Responsible to coordinate repairs with outside vendors and contractors.
- Maintain water feature and filtration systems.
- Repair and maintain pressurized and drip irrigation systems.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Understand proper safety procedures and be trained in the use, before operating any equipment
- Knowledge of waste disposal and recycling
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Ability to use bailer, compactor, power washer, pallet jack, and other power equipment
- Ability to work as a team and independently
- Ability to perform work to accepted industry standards
- Experience repairing and maintaining pressurized and drip irrigation systems
- Intermediate knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Working knowledge of maintaining water feature and filtration systems
Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as a laptop, desktop, smartphone, photocopiers, shredders, and filing cabinets. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Essential oils are worn and/or diffused in the work environment. Employee may work in outside environment and in colder temperatures, needing to wear warm clothing. Employee may work in environment needing to wear applicable OSHA safety gear.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to use manual dexterity to handle, feel, and operate objects, tools and controls, and reach with hands and arms. This individual is frequently required to stand, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to type, file and lift supplies up to 50 pounds. The employee must be physically able to tolerate the scent of essential oils worn or diffused.
Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis position requires the incumbent to be physically present at the assigned worksite. The shift schedule starting from 7 am and ends at 5:30 pm, with an hour lunch, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Some of these include maintenance emergencies and off hour projects (carpet cleaning, remodeling, etc.).
Required Education And ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent. Three to five years of facilities maintenance experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
