Description JOB RESPONSIBLITIES
Providing food service that meets the nutritional needs of children from birth to six years of age.
Meeting and/or exceeding the Child and Adult care Food Program (CACFP) nutritional guidelines.
Developing monthly menus to post, distribute and keep on file.
Ensuring timely and appropriate to classrooms meal service.
Maintaining allergy list and communicating with staff as necessary.
Calculating and maintaining meal records.
Maintaining inventory of all food and service items, rotating stock and ordering additional items as needed.
Maintaining food budget.
Working with classroom teachers to implement food experiences in the classroom.
Maintaining a clean and sanitary environment at all times.
Practicing appropriate food storage in accordance to Kansas Department or Health and Environment (KDHE) and CACFP requirements.
Assisting in the administration of medication for program participants as directed by Program Director.
Attending all scheduled staff meetings and assigned trainings.
Display and model at all time the YMCA Core Values: Honesty, Respect, Responsibility and Caring.
Supporting Strong Community Campaign fundraising efforts.
All other duties as assigned by Program Director.
EFFECT ON END RESULT: Ensuring children receive nutrition needed to sustain a balanced diet to promote overall health and ensuring parents are pleased with the growth and development of children, positively affecting overall program stability. Requirements Education/Experience Requirements:
Minimum age of 18
Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have at least 3 months experience in food service
Must have relevant experience working with children
Physical/Mental Requirements:
Must be able to routinely perform the following moderate physical activities; climb, bend, stoop, kneel, twist, reach with hands, sit, walk and stand for extended periods of time, lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, have finger dexterity, grasp, perform repetitive motions, talk, hear and have visual acuity
Must possess problem solving, organizational and task management skills; ability to make independent and sound decisions in a rapidly changing environment
Must demonstrate a high level of maturity, patience, dependability, sound judgment, motivation and desire to work with all ages, especially youth
Must exhibit initiative in the absence of supervision
Must be able to relate to and work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner
Must work collaboratively as a team member as well as independently and lead by assigned goals, duties and deadlines
Must present a neat and professional appearance at all times

Must attend New Employee Orientation within 30 days of hire
Complete Pediatric CPR/AED and First Aid, KDHE Physical, negative TB test, Health & Safety trainings, Food Handlers Card and CACFP Civil Rights Training, and other mandatory trainings in accordance with Conditions of Employment
Learn all emergency procedures and action plans for the branch as necessary
Understand and abide-by all policies and procedures as set forth by the association
Work a schedule that reflects the needs of the branch; including weekends and evenings
