Job Summary:

YWS is looking for a highly motivated LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) with experience primary care or urgent care to join our practice. care for and ensure the well-being of patients. If you are looking for a comprehensive multidisciplinary outpatient practice, then you will want to become part of our team. You will provide a positive, supportive environment while working in conjunction with providers (physicians, advanced practice nurses/nurse practitioners, etc.) front office, and clinical staff.

Your Wellness Sources provides Integrated Wellness Services that include primary care, nutritional counseling, weight management, women wellness exams, IV Therapy, phlebotomy, behavioral health services, addiction treatment, mental and physical readiness exams to our military personnel, and treatment to a vast culturally diverse patient population. The LPN is part of our medical wellness team and will work in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team of providers.

The successful LPN will have sound clinical skills, strong communication skills, and a dedication to customer service and patient care.

Primary Duties/ Responsibilities:

  • Under direct supervision by the advanced practice nurse the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will also report to the Practice Manager and will be responsible for supervising medical assistants and providing clinical support alongside other care team members. The LPN will be cross-trained to work in Scheduling, Front desk/Reception, Intake, Referrals. RX refills, Medical Records Management, and Clinical Environmental Compliance.
  • Providing leadership and guidance to clinic staff, including training, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day clinical operations to include medical, ancillary, and behavioral health services.
  • Managing the daily scheduling of patients and ensuring the clinic schedules are at capacity, patients that are canceled or no-show are rescheduled timely, and patients that wants to stop services are interviewed for the reason.
  • Prepares patient for medical exams by reviewing history, collecting current information and appropriate vital signs, and documenting in the medical record according to guidelines.
  • Ensuring that the Medical Technician/Front Desk team collect patient charges, and co-pays at the time of service, controlling credit extended to patients, and payment plans that are requested.
  • Providing Front Desk support as needed or as an alternate for the medical technician/Front Desk Staff/.
  • Protecting patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of medical, personal, and financial information.
  • Prepares room and equipment for procedures and assists providers as needed.
  • Assist with monitoring and management of patient and provider's electronic messages as delegated by advanced practice nurses.
  • Maintains department Quality Improvement standards.
  • Screen and record detailed clinical intake of patients.
  • Prepare and administer all prescribed medications including, but not limited to, IV medications and fluid administration, IM, SQ, PO, and intradermal medication administration at the direction of the medical provider.
  • Ensuring that the clinic is in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation standards, as well as YWS policies and procedures.
  • Monitors staff performance and provide feedback as needed.
  • Report all complaints concerning YWS services to Practice Manager & Medical Director to jointly collaborate on a service recovery effort.
  • Attend mandatory team meetings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited school for Licensed Practical or Vocational Nursing
  • Current Maryland state LPN license or compact state.
  • Venipuncture: 1 year (Required)
  • 2 years of experience (Required)
  • Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR certification
  • Maintain CEU/CMEs as applicable for licensure.
  • 1 years of direct patient care experience
  • Interpersonal skills, communication (verbal and written) are required.
  • Must have IV skills.
  • Experience with venipuncture and lab specimen collections
  • Ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Effective time management skills
  • Compassionate and empathetic

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Current IV Certification or must be willing to obtain within 90 days if required by the state.
  • Understanding of HIPPA compliance, confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
  • Excellent knowledge of medical terminology
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Can work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Military clinic experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 25 or more lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk almost constantly up to 80% of work time.

Pay: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour
