Youth Development Institute is Hiring a Director of Quality Management Near Phoenix, AZ

Job DescriptionThe Director of Quality Management is responsible for ensuring that all regulatory, accreditation, and contractual standards are met and maintained.
DutiesPerformance Standard
  • Policy & Procedure: design and revise policy & procedure as needed. Maintain monitoring system to ensure policy & procedure are kept current.
  • Compliance: contact person for all on-site, off-site, and/or desk audits initiated by contractors. Joint Commission experience is preferred.
  • Update and disseminate all required QM reports, including the Business Continuity Plan, Seclusion and Restraint Reports, and the Continuous Quality Improvement Report.
  • Quality of Care Investigations: facilitate debriefings and, if required, promote further investigation into incidents resulting in a QOC investigation.
  • Monitoring Systems: design and oversee the monitoring of various contractor requirements within YDI. Oversee audits of client records on ongoing basis, tracking deficiencies and monitoring completion of any noted deficiencies. Ensure admission, discharge, and ongoing record deficiency audits are completed within designated time frame.
  • Documentation: ensure that all agency forms meet regulatory and licensing requirements. Update forms as needed based on changes to contractual, licensing, and/or regulatory requirements.
  • Databases: maintain various databases utilized for report creation and data analysis.
  • Supervision of Case Management staff and Medical Records staff: ensure YDI case managers fulfill their duties as assigned, provide guidance and supervision regarding incident reports and staffing summaries, review and sign incident reports daily, and complete job evaluations for all case managers. Medical records staff are to be supervised regarding auditing and thinning of charts and provide guidance in their daily activities.
  • Training: provide training to overnight staff regarding client chars, auditing, and deficiency logs, train staff on incident reporting and BAR notes, and train the case management staff.
  • Committees: serve on the Performance Improvement Committee and serve on the Safety Committee.
Minimum Qualifications:
The Director of Quality Management is to have, at a minimum, a Master’s Degree in a related field and a combination of six years of behavioral health experience. Experience with Joint Commission surveys and experience with investigations required. Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action plans. Behavioral Health Experience required. Special consideration for six sigma certification. Salary is based on education and experience.
