The Great Things You Will Do!

Manage and expand before and after school community school programming by recruiting student-participants, coordinating developmentally appropriate activities for students and oversee staff members. You’ll manage relationships with school administrators and staff as well as maintain accurate financial and attendance records, collaborate with community members and organizations to offer programs and services that meet the needs of students and their families and help market the program for growth and sustainability.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Oversight of program staff; monitoring absenteeism and parent and child interactions
  • Create a developmentally appropriate multi-age after school program
  • Create and maintain a program schedule that reflects effective management
  • Develop and maintain appropriate conflict resolution and behavior management techniques
  • Effectively manage grant or tuition-based budgets, maintaining compliance with the provisions of the grant or the collection of all tuition payments
  • Maintain consistent positive communication with parents, administration/school staff, and Youth Guidance
  • Coordinate and monitor all programs and activities

Education/Experience/Training

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with youth and/or adults in a non-profit, social service or community development organization - preferred

Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to work and communicate with elementary and/or high school age youth
  • Ability to understand and interpret the policies, procedures, and general organizational structure of the Chicago Public Schools
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and management skills
  • Ability to keep accurate records, prepare reports and present results
