Description
Since 1982, over 160,000 youth have been helped with Youth Opportunities Unlimited (Y.O.U.) programs. Y.O.U. helps teens and young adults, ages 14-24 living in economically distressed communities succeed by providing educational and workforce opportunities, skills development, and access to career pathways. We offer school-based and community-based programs designed to meet the needs of Northeast Ohio employers, with a focus on those industry sectors that provide the most opportunities for career success. Job Purpose
PACE Employer Relations Specialists work to ensure that PACE students are introduced to new employment opportunities. They work with PACE graduates to secure full-time employment or the appropriate training for students' chosen career pathways after graduation from high school. The PACE Employer Relations Specialist is responsible for cultivating relationships with new and current employers and training partners to provide and develop meaningful internship, work experiences, and/or training for participants. They also provide feedback to the PACE Team about the attitudes, abilities, and skills our employer partners are looking for in an entry level worker. PACE Employer Relations Specialists work collaboratively with PACE Career Readiness Facilitators to ensure that students are connected to employment or training opportunities that match their career fields of interest.
Essential Functions
  • Maintain relationships with existing employers and establish relationships with new employers who are willing to provide employment, apprenticeship, and internship opportunities for teens and young adults.
  • Maintain relationships with existing training partners and establish relationships with new training partners who are willing to provide credential or pre-employment training for teens and young adults.
  • Maintain accurate records of all meetings, events, and employer and training partner information. Provide reports as requested.
  • Collaborate with PACE Career Readiness Facilitators to ensure that all students in Y.O.U. PACE Advising are connected to employment, apprenticeships, internships, or training within their chosen career pathway after graduating from high school.
  • Document all communication and interaction supporting PACE in-school and follow-up students who earn employment as part of follow-up period.
  • Support PACE career development and employability skills training and workshops as needed.
  • Liaison between employer and PACE in-school and follow-up students to schedule interviews and other pre-employment activities.
  • Will work as a member of the Employment Team and will support organizational employment initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Education, Social Work, or other relevant field.
  • An additional 4 years of work experience as detailed below can be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree. High School Diploma required.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in sales prospecting, networking, and recruiting strategies.
  • 3-5 years of project or program management experience.
  • Familiarity in recruiting techniques and work opportunity development.
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office programs and have experience with databases, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Must have valid transportation to/from Y.O.U. offices, partner organizations, and other community based locations to meet with clients.
  • Must pass a background BCI/FBI check as a condition of employment.

Work Environment
  • This position is hybrid with frequent travel to community locations. The work pace for this position is sometimes fast paced where work is required for up to 2 hours at a time. The environment in which the job is performed outside a normal office space may include exposure to extreme temperature, noise, heights, or other hazards. All remain the same for any additional requirements for training.
  • When working remotely, must have a workspace free of distractions and background noise (Pets, children, television, radio, etc.)
  • This position requires such physical abilities as sitting for computer and phone work, standing for periods of time during presentations, lifting up to 20lbs periodically and carrying supplies, and walking throughout office buildings and worksite locations.
  • The environment in which the job is performed outside a normal office space may include exposure to extreme temperature, noise, heights, or other hazards. All remains the same for any additional requirements for training.
