Youth Services System is Hiring a Therapist Near Wheeling, WV
Job Summary: The Therapist is responsible to provide clinical assessment/evaluation of youth and young adults presenting with mental health and substance abuse concerns. This position will provide individual, family and group therapy to youth/young adults and their families. The therapist serves on the treatment team to assure clinical needs are addressed. Education And ExperienceRequires Masters Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology; Prefers active/valid clinical license, will accept license eligibility; 13-year experience with youth/young adults with mental health and substance abuse diagnosis; Must have valid drivers license and proof of automobile insurance as required by law. Duties And Responsibilities
Assist with screening of referrals.
Work in collaboration with central referral department in completing initial assessments/evaluations.
Provide individual, family and group therapy to alleviate emotional disturbances, change maladaptive behaviors and encourage personality growth and development.
Serve as a member of the treatment team.
Assist with linkage/referral to any needed clinical services.
Facilitate transition/discharge planning by assuring clinical needs are met and necessary supports are in place.
Attend necessary training.
Attend necessary community meetings to represent agency.
Maintain required licensure/certification.
Provide training on best practices for co-occurring youth.
Cooperate with insurance provider enrollment and provider expectations.
Complete all required Case Record documentation and grant required reports.
Assist with tracking of performance measures.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of evidence based therapeutic approaching like motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioral therapy, etc.
Knowledge of various systems including child welfare, mental health, education, and judicial.
Knowledge of applicable clinical theories, evidence-based assessments, approaches and programs.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records Systems.
Ability to work under pressure and multitask.
Proficient and accurate documentation.
Good written and oral communication skills.
Ability to use Adobe and Microsoft software.
