LKSD-WBL Medical Support Technician I, Temporary

Position Summary: Answers scheduling telephones. Schedules, cancels or reschedules patient appointments using the Scheduling Guidelines or routes the calls to appropriate department or party in a professional manner. Shadow’s and assists with dental procedures, and assists in general clinic function. Assists the Admin team in various office duties as assigned.

Note: All students will be required to follow standard new hire onboarding including fingerprinting and criminal background checks

Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education: 16 years old, junior/senior, must be enrolled in LKSD WBL class, HS transcripts
  • Minimum Experience: One year experience in a position that requires dealing with the public preferred. Previous switchboard experience preferred. Working knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • License, Certification, Registration: None required
  • Equipment/Tools: Computer, Multiline telephone system, copy/print/scan machine and other general office equipment.
  • Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Able to communicate with easy medical terms for patients. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Yup’ik speaker preferred.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities: None
