Job Summary

The Community Training Specialist will create, promote, evaluate, and conduct training programs for which external groups contract with the YWCA, plus online training resources for this audience, under the supervision of the Clinical Director. All staff are expected to carry out the YWCA mission of empowering women and eliminating racism by maintaining a commitment to social justice, trauma recovery, elimination of systemic oppression, and multiculturalism. Staff must maintain high ethical standards, abide by YWCA policies and procedures, and applicable local, state, and/or federal regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide movement and wellness programming at the main office and various sites in the community
• Provide workshops related to movement, integrated wellness, and mental health including creating content, planning, and presenting
• Assist in evaluating program/workshop effectiveness by administering surveys and gathering feedback
• Work closely with the Clinical Director and clinical staff to field workshop and programming requests as needed
• May serve as a site supervisor to interns and volunteers when providing services in the community including providing support and guidance
• Provide space for program/workshop prep and post-debriefing
• Participate in outreach events and meetings as needed
• Work collaboratively with other team members to create course materials, including video format and versions translated into multiple languages
• Record attendance and notes in electronic database as per YWCA procedures
• Maintain and develop knowledge of the latest trends in movement and integrated wellness
• Maintain knowledge of topics in diversity, equity & inclusion, and trauma-informed practices
• Perform other related duties as required

Hours of work/Schedule

On Call – Normal work hours and days assigned based on a Monday through Saturday work week of between 10-15 hours between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm as arranged with supervisor and clients. The position requires work out in the community at local institutions/schools and businesses, occasional meetings in the office, and some remote work from home.

Required Skills/Abilities

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good collaboration and teamwork skills
• Strong group facilitation and presentation skills
• Training in body-based/movement programming (ex. yoga, dance, etc.) 
• Ability to design and implement effective training programs
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related program software

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field. Master’s preferred
• Knowledge of mental health and working with diverse populations preferred
• State licensure or moving toward licensure preferred

Physical Requirements 

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times 
• Ability to drive to and from client locations
