Summary:
Ensures quality programming and staffing, exemplary child safety and programming, while maintaining a balanced budget
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Directly manages counselors throughout the day, providing breaks, leadership and direction.
· Supports staff with undesired behaviors, giving resources and suggestions.
· Maintains and communicates YWCA policies and procedures with the staff, children, and parents.
· Communicates with parents regarding enrollment procedures, facility activities, and policies. Confers with parents on other issues as needed.
· Promotes all YWCA Services to increase community awareness.
· Performs other camp staff’s duties during absence of regular staff
· Other duties may be assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Assists in overseeing all on-site day camp programs and before and after drop sites for 11-week day camp program.
· Oversees daily activities when Director and Assistant Director are not present.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in elementary, early childhood, special Education, child development or the human services field and at least one-year experience working with young children. Or an associate’s degree from and accredited college or university in elementary, early childhood, special Education, child development or the human services field and two years of experience working with children. Or an associate’s degree from an accredited college or university, including 30 credit hours in elementary, early childhood, special Education, child development or the human services field and four years' experience working with children, or ten or more years of experience in elementary, early childhood, special Education, child development or the human services field and continuing education credits during the ten years’ time
